USDC Bonus Balance and Cash Balance: Two Lines That Both Read as Dollars

When a cashier holds two balances in the same unit, the peg makes them look interchangeable. They are not. One is yours to withdraw, and the other is a conditional credit that becomes yours only when a condition is met.

This note is about reading the two lines correctly and about the single question that decides most disputes over them: which one does a bet draw from first?

The level line is what a dollar peg promises. The swinging one is what a volatile coin does.

Two lines, one unit

A cash balance is money you deposited or won with cash. A bonus balance is a credit the operator added under terms. Both can be shown in USDC, and both read as dollars, so adding them up gives a total that looks like what you own. It is not. Only the cash line can leave the account at any moment, and the bonus line can leave only after its terms are satisfied.

A stable unit makes the display neater, because both lines are in the same unit and neither floats against the other. It does nothing to the status of the lines. A balance of one hundred and fifty can mean a hundred of yours and fifty of conditional credit, and only the first hundred is withdrawable today.

Which line pays for the bet

There are two common arrangements, and the terms tell you which one is in force. In one, bets draw from the cash line first, and the bonus line is touched only when the cash is gone. In the other, bets draw from the bonus line first. The difference decides which money is exposed while you play. If cash goes first and you win, you may clear the requirement with the bonus untouched; if bonus goes first and you lose, you have used credit you may never have been able to withdraw.

Some terms also cancel the bonus if you withdraw cash before the requirement is met. Others let you withdraw cash and forfeit the bonus and anything won with it. These are different bargains described by similar sentences.

What a stable unit simplifies

The target a bonus asks of you, counted in a pegged unit, keeps its size. The progress counter, your own arithmetic and the cashier's agree. That makes it simpler to say how far along you are and what the remaining turnover is worth, which is a real convenience and the only one the peg offers here. The bonuses page has the mechanics in full.

What to check before you accept

Find the sentence that says what the multiple is applied to. Find the one that says which balance is drawn first. Find any maximum bet that applies during the bonus, and any expiry date. Then check whether USDC deposits are eligible for that offer, since terms sometimes list coins and networks that qualify. Take the answers as written, and if they are missing, ask support in writing before you play.

Questions about bonus and cash lines

Can I withdraw while a bonus is active?

That depends on the terms. Some forfeit the bonus when cash is withdrawn, some block withdrawals until the requirement is met. Read the clause before you click accept.

Is my total balance all mine?

Only the cash portion is, unless the terms say otherwise. A total that includes a bonus line contains conditional money.
